Old Clip of Garcelle Beauvais Calling Lisa Rinna Out Over Not Bringing Race Onto RHOBH Resurfaces Amid Recent Interview
A clip from the season 11 reunion of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Garcelle Beauvais calling Lisa Rinna out regarding not bringing race onto the show has resurfaced amid Garcelle discussing it in a recent interview.
In the clip, Garcelle tells Lisa that someone had told her that “you said that I should have never brought race into this show, that this show is not that kind of show. And that really bothered me.”
Lisa denied the accusation, insisting Garcelle should have come to her to discuss it.
Later, Lisa reiterated that she would “never” say that, to which Garcelle said she didn’t know that.
“Garcelle, you have it out for me, and I want to know why,” Lisa then said.
While she denied having it out for Lisa, Garcelle insisted that when she heard the race thing, it “really pissed” her off.
“So why didn’t you f*cking come to me and say, ‘Rinna, what are you doing?’” Lisa asked.
“So you’re gonna blame me for something that — for being upset about something?” Garcelle retorted.
Lisa continued to pry, saying she wanted to know why Garcelle was so “mean” to her all season.
While Garcelle continued to hammer home the point that the “race thing” had bothered her, Lisa continued to swear she never said it, and she asked to know who had told her that.
“I’m not saying a word about that,” Garcelle responded. “But I was sent some texts.”
Garcelle later asked Lisa why this was “rattling” her so much, and Lisa said it was because Garcelle was “so s*itty” to her all season.
“You’re not being honest why,” she added. “That’s not why you were s*itty to me. Why were you s*itty?”
Garcelle admitted it was because she didn’t “trust” Lisa.
“Okay, there we go!” Lisa exclaimed. “Then let’s go there!”
“I’ve been saying that,” Garcelle fired back, as the clip came to a close.
Garcelle recently appeared on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show, and she discussed how the request to keep racial topics off the show made her feel as though there was an attempt to negate her and her experience.
“I didn’t think about walking away then, but I was very taken aback by that because I show up and my race shows up with me, and if this is truly reality, don’t you want to see my reality too?” Garcelle said. “We have to, you know, Black power. That’s not who I am, but at the same time, you can’t negate who I am and what I bring and my experience.”
“That was a tough one, honestly,” she noted.
