WILD WOLFE American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe is ‘doing something he’s never done’ with bike shop renovations despite backlash for change
MIKE Wolfe has been making major changes to his Tennessee shop Columbia Motor Alley.
The American Pickers star’s changes come after he faced backlash for his plans to renovate the town of Columbia – about 45 miles outside Nashville.

On Tuesday, Mike, 60, shared a video on his Instagram profile from outside his store.
He began, “We are live at Columbia Motor Alley and we are doing something we’ve never done here before.
“We are gardening.”

The TV personality wore a navy blue T-shirt, a straw Quicksilver hat, and sunglasses.
Mike turned the camera to show off the three tiny spruce trees planted and surrounded by fertilizer and rocks inside a large brown box.
“I had these custom planters made,” he said.
The History Channel star also noted that the boxes were on wheels and could change their placement easily.
‘SPRUCING IT UP’
Mike continued to show his followers what he used to keep the plants secure and healthy, “We did some really nice topsoil.”
He then explained that he wanted to use river rock to surround the plants with but didn’t have enough so he called it an “art project.”
The star walked over to two other planters, one with prepared soil and the other empty.
His pal Dave also lent a helping hand during Mike’s day of gardening.
“We thought we would do our part to, no pun intended, spruce up this area.
“I just wanted you guys to see more of a nesting side to us.
“Over and out,” he concluded his video.
MAKING MOVES
As well as being a part of American Pickers, Mike is also a businessman.
He owns Columbia Motor Alley and two Antique Archelogy stores in Tennessee and Iowa.
Also in Columbia, he owns the vacation rental guesthouse Two Lanes, and in June, The U.S. Sun revealed Mike purchased a 1,240 square foot commercial property in December 2023 in the quiet town.
Mike has poured in tons of money for the changes he wants to make to Columbia – including bringing new businesses to the area to entice tourists to visit.
His latest project is slated to cost about $93 million, a source exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun.
‘THE TOWN IS CHANGING RAPIDLY’
However, many Columbia residents have mixed feelings about Mike’s project.
The insider said, “It’s kind of interesting because a lot of people don’t want change and some people do, so we’re in that flux.”
They went into what’s in store for the small town, “They are building a six-story condo with a restaurant. Next to that is going to be a car place.

“The town is changing rapidly.
“The town is happy Mike is taking this on to help bring new life to Columbia,” the source said.
In addition to the new Columbia project, Mike also owns a 2,900-square-foot property worth $192,000, a 4,653-square-foot property estimated to be worth around $336,000, and a 6,279-square-foot property that was purchased for $464,000.
