PICK UP AND GO Danielle Colby announces big career move overseas after American Pickers’ ratings tank as she gushes she’s ‘so excited’

DANIELLE Colby has announced she’s preparing to pick up her things and leave the country, as ratings for her reality program continue to tank.

The American Pickers star is making several new career plans for life after the show.

Danielle, who also dabbles as a burlesque dancer, will be spending the first part of the year in her second home of Puerto Rico.

And she’ll be giving a special performance as well.

The 48-year-old announced on her Instagram she’ll be doing a special dance as part of Rincón Roadshow Presents: Tropical Sinferno at La Estacion!

Danielle shared a link to buy tickets for the January 13th show, featuring nearly a dozen fellow dancers.

“Tickets are on sale now for the Rincón Roadshow Presents: Tropical Sinferno at La Estacion!” she shared in the caption.

“I’m so excited to be performing again with some of my favorite people that just happen to be the best performers on the island!”

BOOK REPORT
Danielle has been busy contemplating backup plans, if the show should be cancelled.

Earlier this month, she revealed she’s working on a brand new project to show her passion for vintage clothing.

Amid American Pickers’ hiatus, Danielle said she would be pulling the most unique pieces out of her closet and sharing the history behind them in a new textile book.

She explained: “Shooting again, in this beautiful acid green glass bead 1920s gown that I had painstakingly rehabilitated by Jans in Michigan a few years back.

“They really paid attention to every detail. What an immaculate job bringing this incredible piece back to life.”

Danielle declared: “Yes, I’m finally doing it… I’m pulling my favorite pieces out of my own personal closet, photographing, archiving, and writing about the process with my partner and friend @haley.atkin.

She finished off the announcement by letting followers know that she would be updating them on the progress of each chapter.

PICKED OUT
Danielle could soon have plenty of time to devote to her book, as American Pickers struggles to convince viewers to pick it.

The History Channel series has struggled to find an audience, as ratings have dipped drastically lower than before, with previous seasons reaching over $1million viewers per episode.

Season 24 of American Pickers premiered on January 4 and ran weekly until March 8.

The remainder of Season 24 returned on July 5 and ran until August 23.

The U.S. Sun reported that the August 23 episode brought in the lowest numbers for the season, with about 620,000 viewers.

After that, the network made unannounced schedule changes and has not aired any new episodes.

Around the same time, a friend of Mike’s told The U.S. Sun that he and Robbie were considering retiring from the show.

“I don’t know how long the show will last. I don’t know how long Mike and Robbie want to do this. I think they would like to retire at some point. It’s been 12 years.

“It’s a strain on your life,” the pal said.
