American Pickers’ Danielle Colby wears feathers and pasties, talks about small victories following terrifying surgery.

Danielle Colby from American Pickers is a huge fan of burlesque. She may be more passionate about burlesque than anything else, including the picking that has elevated her to celebrity status. However, she was only lately set to return to her favorite activity after undergoing significant surgery. The celebrity had been suffering from unforeseen health issues that resulted in a terrifying hysterectomy, and now she’s opening up about the small victories she’s celebrated since.

Colby is notorious for capturing fans’ attention with a viral post or five, and this week was no different. She wore a bunch of green feathers and some matching pasties for a post by her burlesque alter ego, Danny Diesel. In the article, she discussed the surgery, which resulted in numerous setbacks over the last few months, as well as how her body is getting stronger finally as a result of the traumatic experience.

Of course, Colby’s enthusiasm for burlesque is nothing new, but it appears that the emergency operation she discussed last October had long-term consequences for her recuperation. Her routine in the video appeared to go off without a hitch. Nevertheless, according to what she wrote, it is a delicate balance for the reality star to continue doing the things she enjoys while still taking care of herself.

Back in October, the American Pickers star opened up about the emergency hysterectomy she had endured. She stated at the time that she’d spoken with co-star Mike Wolfe’s girlfriend, Tish, about feeling unwell due to period troubles that Colby had told her about. Tish emphasized the importance of getting into the gynecologist.

She went on to announce on Patreon that she had uterine fibroids, which were far more dangerous than she had expected. “My doctor advised me that this was not a scenario that I could live with. In fact, this is a scenario that requires immediate surgical intervention,” she shared.

During examinations, because of the number and size of the fibroids, she was unable to obtain a suitable biopsy sample from the area of greatest concern. She ultimately underwent surgery in October of last year.

She has mentioned her rehabilitation a few times in recent months, including in this previous post, in which she wrote about how last year turned her upside down in more ways than one.

Many of Colby’s recent posts have been cheekier and lighter in nature. Regardless, it’s been a difficult few months for the pickers, not just because of the aforementioned health issue but also because of the significant drama between Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, which was followed by Fritz’s health issues.

What is the good news? She is now on the road to complete recovery and is more open about her experience, looking at things from a positive perspective. If that journey includes a favorite passion such as burlesque, all the better.
