Danielle Colby Promotes Burlesque Show at the Riviera Theater

Outside of her TV career, American Pickers star Danielle Colby is well known for her successful burlesque business. The 47-year-old reality star is currently promoting a show that will take place at the Riviera Theater in Upstate New York.

On Wednesday evening, Danielle shared a promotional flyer on her Instagram stories, which featured photos of other performers in similar attire and a picture of Danielle herself in a burlesque costume. The flyer read, “Burlesque at the Riviera starring Danielle Colby from American Pickers and Friends,” with the added note, “Also featuring the Eye Candy Vixens.”

Danielle didn’t include a caption with the photo, simply showcasing her intriguing new endeavor, which is independent of her work on American Pickers.

Mike Wolfe’s Potential Retirement from American Pickers

The flyer’s release came just hours after a close friend of Mike Wolfe, Danielle’s co-star, privately revealed to The U.S. Sun that Mike is considering leaving the show.

“I don’t know how long the show will run,” the friend said. “I’m unsure how long Mike and Robbie intend to continue. They probably want to retire at some point. It’s been 12 years, and it makes things difficult for you. They’ve been doing this for a while. People say, ‘Ah, we’re back on the road again,’ but they don’t have time for this, and they don’t have time for that. Like any job, it’s a love-hate relationship. On some days, you wish you could do whatever you wanted, and on others, your enthusiasm for work is palpable.”

Since 2010, Mike and Danielle Colby have appeared in the popular series, and in 2022, Robbie Colby officially joined the cast to take Frank Fritz’s place. The show’s future is uncertain, especially with the recent decline in viewership.

Declining Ratings for American Pickers

The ratings for American Pickers have been disappointing in recent months. The season premiere on July 5 attracted 918,000 viewers, but by the week of July 19, the audience had dropped to 713,000. The show saw a slight uptick on July 26 with 885,000 viewers, but ratings continued to decline, with episodes on August 9 and 16 bringing in 778,000 and 706,000 viewers, respectively. The lowest-rated episode of the season aired on August 23, with just 620,000 viewers.

At the height of the show’s popularity, American Pickers regularly attracted millions of viewers, but the ratings have suffered since Mike and Frank’s split.

Danielle’s Continued Success in Burlesque

Despite the challenges with American Pickers, Danielle has continued to promote her successful burlesque career. Earlier this week, she posted a promotional video for her upcoming show at the Riviera Theater. The video showcased the historic venue, followed by several images of Danielle dressed in elaborate burlesque costumes.

In the first image, Danielle posed in a dazzling headdress, with shimmering gold and crystal designs standing out against her smoky eyeshadow. The second image showed her in a magnificent red outfit, with matching panties peeking through her flowing long sleeves. The last shot featured some of the other performers, adorned in sparkling jewelry and feathers.

The video’s narrator invited fans to attend the classic burlesque evening on Saturday, September 9th, at 8 PM. Danielle’s caption read, “Hey Buffalo, I’ll be there shortly! Purchase your tickets as soon as possible before they sell out.”
