Danielle Discovers Secret ‘Treasure’: A Hidden Hoard of Vintage Harley-Davidsons and Playboy Magazines!

In the latest jaw-dropping twist from the haunted Iowa farm, Danielle Colby stumbled upon what she calls her “personal heaven and hell” — a secret underground vault packed with dozens of pristine vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycles and a massive collection of original Playboy magazines dating back to the 1950s.

The discovery happened on the third day of filming the explosive American Pickers special episode “The Haunted Hoard.” While Mike Wolfe was still emotional over the fully original Sherman Tank and Frank Fritz was trying to avoid the Elvis figure in the attic, Danielle felt drawn to a suspicious old storm cellar behind the main garage.

“I just had this weird feeling… like something valuable was calling me,” Danielle said. “I lifted the hatch and nearly fell over when I saw what was down there.”

What she found was nothing short of legendary.

Hidden in a surprisingly dry and well-preserved underground bunker were 18 vintage Harley-Davidson motorcycles, including:

  • A 1948 Harley-Davidson Panhead in original condition
  • A 1957 Sportster
  • Several Knucklehead and Flathead models from the 1930s–1940s
  • A rare 1960s Duo-Glide with original paint and chrome still shining

All the bikes appeared untouched by time, still wearing their factory tires and tool kits.

But that wasn’t all. Lining the walls of the vault were hundreds of carefully stored Playboy magazines — complete issues from 1953 (the very first issue featuring Marilyn Monroe) up through the 1970s, many still in their original plastic sleeves with mint condition centerfolds. Some magazines had handwritten notes from Mr. Harlan’s grandfather, suggesting he had a personal connection to the Playboy Club scene in the 1960s.

Danielle, known for her bold personality and appreciation for vintage pin-up culture, screamed with excitement. “This is the ultimate biker babe dream! Harleys and classic Playboy? I think I just died and went to heaven,” she laughed, though her joy was short-lived.

As she began photographing the collection, the paranormal activity that had plagued the property intensified. Several Harley engines suddenly roared to life by themselves. The lights in the bunker flickered, and Danielle reported seeing a shadowy pin-up girl figure flipping through a magazine before vanishing. “One second she was there, the next she was gone. She looked straight out of a 1965 centerfold,” Danielle recounted, visibly shaken.

Mike Wolfe rushed down to the vault and was equally stunned. “Danielle hit the jackpot. These Harleys alone could be worth over $300,000, and the Playboy collection is museum-quality. But this place… it doesn’t want to let any of this go.”

Frank Fritz, examining one of the motorcycles, joked nervously, “Leave it to Danielle to find the sexy stuff while we’re dealing with ghosts and a tank.”

After intense negotiation with the now-missing Mr. Harlan’s distant relative (who finally appeared to sign papers), the American Pickers team struck another massive deal: $265,000 for 12 Harleys and the entire Playboy magazine collection. This brought the total amount spent at the haunted property to over $700,000 — by far the largest single-location purchase in the show’s history.

Even after removal, strange events followed the treasures. One Harley reportedly started itself in the transport truck, and several crew members claimed to smell perfume and cigar smoke around the Playboy crates. Security cameras at the warehouse have allegedly captured pages of the magazines turning by themselves at night.

Danielle later posted on social media: “Found my dream bikes and the ultimate vintage collection today. But this place has some serious energy attached to it. Still processing everything that happened…”

Paranormal expert Evelyn Crowe warned: “The motorcycles seem to carry the spirits of old riders, and the Playboy collection is tied to strong emotional energy. They’ve brought home more than metal and paper — they’ve brought home stories and possibly souls.”

With the Sherman Tank, haunted classic cars, the Elvis figure, and now Danielle’s secret Harley-Playboy vault, the Harlan farm has delivered the most valuable, bizarre, and terrifying hoard ever featured on American Pickers.

Fans are calling this the “ultimate episode” and are eagerly waiting to see Danielle’s reaction when the full vault is revealed on screen.

Will these treasures bring good fortune… or will the spirits of the past demand something in return?
