Mike, 59, posed with the legendary guitarist James Burton, 84, on Instagram. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer performed with Elvis Presley from 1969 until the singer’s death in 1977.

In the first post, the American Pickers host sat with the rock star legend outdoors. The History Channel star wore a gray shirt, while James covered his eyes with reflective sunglasses and donned a long-sleeved graphic shirt.

“Not every day I get to film with one of my heroes,” Mike captioned the post. “I love you, James Burton. Thank you for always being such a bright light in my life,” Mike said on Saturday.

Mike attended James Street’s dedication ceremony in Louisiana. According to the Shreveport Times, the street dedication added a new “Street Dedicated to James Burton” sign above the “Elvis Presley Avenue” sign.

In the second post, the antique expert revealed he was filming with one of the greatest of all time. About 3 days ago, Mike shared a snapshot of himself standing next to a statue of the guitar player. The statue stood in front of the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

“James Burton is not only one of the most epic guitar players that ever lived,” Mike wrote. “He also has one of the kindest, most beautiful hearts I’ve ever known. I feel so blessed with his friendship.”

This past week, the 59-year-old star was in Louisiana with his brother and American Pickers co-host Robbie Wolfe, 57, and co-star John “Jersey John,” 60. In his Instagram stories, Mike uploaded several snapshots of random landmarks in the Pelican State. He took a shot of the Elvis Presley street sign and a close-up of the Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium. The auditorium was where the King of Rock and Roll performed at the Louisiana Hayride show in October 1954.

Robbie shared a brief clip of the pouring rain hammering the streets. “Keep on picking. We are still filming new episodes of American Pickers,” Robbie mentioned in his post.

The trio went back to work despite the program’s dismal ratings. Mike, Robbie, and John reunited with co-host Danielle Colby, 48, for season 25, which kicked off in late December 2023. However, the ratings for the show have been topsy-turvy. In early April, installments for season 25 were bumped from the air due to low ratings. The ratings had about 85,000 viewers tuning in after losing about 151,000 fans.
