These thugs were connected to Ferdinand Marcos, the then-president of the Philippines, who allegedly ordered the theft to claim Yamashita’s treasure for himself.

Ras, threatened and tortured, was forced to sign affidavits clearing Marcos of any involvement in the theft and denying any knowledge of the treasure’s existence. His family was also tormented, and Ras was forced into hiding. His life was marked by constant danger, and despite his ordeal, Ras’s story remains a key piece in the puzzle of Yamashita’s Gold.
